Review: A pretty interesting and different kind of movie that was entertaining at parts, but at other times were tedious.

Review: Recommended from a fellow Filmspotting podcast listener, this Romanian movie became one of my favorites of 2011.

Reservoir Dogs Rating: 5/5
Year: 1992
Review: A favorite of mine that I had been meaning to rewatch. I wanted to see where it ranked with the rest of Quentin Tarantino’s catalog, and it is a tough one. Pulp Fiction is still my favorite, but this is really close, as is Kill Bill Vol. 2 & Inglorious Basterds.

You’re Gonna Miss Me Rating: 3/5
Year: 2005
Review: An interesting look at a very misunderstood musician, Roky Erickson. Did not know that his first band The 13th Floor Elevators coined the term “psychedelic rock.”

Of Gods And Men Rating: 2.5/5

Review: Heard this was an overlooked movie from 2011, but sadly it was not very griping. There is a lot of scenes where the monks are singing and while beautiful, they are very redundant.

Review: Most likely my least favorite Kubrick, however the last 15 minutes are really awesome and well done. You could tell that Kubrick was on to bigger and better things.

Review: Very fun heist movie; I’ll probably stay away from the remake though

Crazy, Stupid, Love. Rating: 3/5
Year: 2011
Review: If this movie ended right after the funny climatic scene, it would have been a lot better. Instead it went on for 15 more minutes and essentially ruined it for me. Not that if those 15 minutes were cut off it would have made an amazing movie, it just would have made an ok movie better.

Review: Thought I had seen this Allen movie a while ago, but guess not. Thought it would be sillier, but there is some very funny dialogue.

The Last Emperor
Year: 1987
Rating: 3/5
Review: Academy award winner for best picture back in 1987. A good film, however I would have rather seen Broadcast News win that year, which was also nominated (or Raising Arizona which was not).
